The Fair Grove Lady Eagles Soccer team held their annual Senior Night on Monday, May 4th, at their game against Monett. The girls were able to win the game 6-1, as all three seniors scored for the Lady Eagles. Senior Midfielder Claire Foster netted the first goal of the game on a cross from sophomore forward Maegan Holland as the girls would open up the scoring from there. Senior Katelyne Cloyd would be the next to score for the Lady Eagles, as she tucked one into the bottom corner to make it 2-0. Leading scorer Jordan Robertson, also a senior, would then net three additional goals for the girls, bringing her tally to a total of 29 goals on the season. Junior Midfielder Jorden Stacey would round off the scoring for the Lady Eagles, netting a goal in the second half that would improve the score to 6-1.

“My favorite part about Senior Night was that every senior girl was able to score and that we all scored in a row,” says Cloyd.

“My favorite part about senior night was getting to share it with the other two seniors, Claire Foster and Katelyne Cloyd. I have really enjoyed my senior year with them, they have been great soccer players as well as great friends,” said Robertson.

The seniors also described their favorite moments that they’ve had while playing soccer at Fair Grove, as Cloyd says her favorite times have been all the crazy moments they’ve had on the bus. Robertson says her favorite memory is when she woke up on the bus to find her mouth had been filled with soda by Alyssah Orr while she was still sleeping, and  how she was confused and the soda spilled out of her mouth all over her jersey.

“I’m really going to miss how little drama goes on in our team. Also being able to say I was a part of the very first Fair Grove girls soccer team is pretty awesome.” says Foster.

As far as the Lady Eagles remaining schedule goes, the girls will play their last regular season games at Aurora on May 7th, at New Covenant on May 11th, and vs. Webb City at home on May 14th, before heading into district play on May 19th.
