The Fair Grove High School theater students have been working long and hard to perform the upcoming plays in the 2018-2019 school year. Theater sponsor Amy Holland said, “We decided to push Grease back to be our spring play, and we are performing Thirteen Past Midnight during the fall.” Theater decided to push Grease back to the spring play because the royalties are restricted, and right now it is very hard to get an application; they did not want to be on a time crunch.

Kayla Hodges (12) says, “I am really looking forward to Thirteen Past Midnight. I’m glad that we decided to push Grease back, because a musical is completely different and we really just want to blow it out of the water.” Hodges is one of the many seniors involved in the theater program. Holland says, “This is one of the biggest senior classes that we’ve ever had, and we’re definitely going to miss them after this year.” She says that the juniors have a lot of potential, including Brody Emerick (11), Dane Psyhos (11), and Abby Quirino (11).

Abby Quirino is the stage manager for all of the plays. She said,  “to stage manage plays, I attend every rehearsal to make line corrections and to be sure every actor knows what they’re doing, has their props, and knows their cues.” Holland says that Quirino is a very crucial person on the team to make sure that the entire play goes smoothly.

The theater has many goals this year. Quirino says, “One goal we have is to up our publicity game by getting out there and having more people attend our performances.” The students say that there is no thrill like acting in front of a crowd of people. All of their hard work will pay off when Thirteen Past Midnight is performed in the fall.
