High School Girls’ Basketball
December 9, 2020
The time for high school girls basketball has come and Fair Grove has high expectations for the season this year.
Fair Grove has a couple players this year that are looking to take a role as a leader and help the team progress throughout the season. Jennifer Talbert, Fair Grove’s High School Girls Basketball coach said, “Our returning starters are Brooklyn Luna, Lauren Kennard, and Kameron Green. Brooklyn and Kameron both averaged double figures for us last season, while Lauren managed to grab many rebounds for us.”
It has appeared the team may be very successful this winter. Brooklyn Luna, senior starting point guard said, “The team is looking really solid. We have everything that you need for a great team. We have the height, the big strong bodies, the quickness and the speed which all comes along with the capabilities of scoring.”
The team has some new faces that are going to make an impact for the varsity team. Coach Talbert went on to say, “We are looking forward to seeing Bradi Weaver, Lauren Thomilson, Savanna Luna, Jaelah McDannald, and Allison Finley contribute to the team this year.”
The team has a lot of goals for the season. Coach Talbert added, “We want to play well in all of our games and continue to show improvement all season. We would really like to win our home tournament and play well in our conference games as those will be fun ones as well.”
Brooklyn Luna said, “It would be great for us to win all the close games as a team, win more games than we lose, and to place well in all of our tournaments, especially the district tournament.”
The goals have been set high for the team and they are only expecting the best outcome. The girls next game v.s. Buffalo and senior night will be held on Monday, December 14th.
