NCAA+Basketball+Championships

Multiple weeks have gone by since the NCAA Division I men’s and women’s national championships.

The men’s championship consisted of Baylor and undefeated Gonzaga. The Final Four consisted of Gonzaga, UCLA, Baylor, and Houston. The UCLA and Gonzaga game was tight all night, as UCLA led the Bulldogs by 12 at one point. UCLA had many chances to put the game away, but late in the second half, they gave the Bulldogs a chance to comeback and tie the game leading it into OT. Overtime was close as well but at the end of it all Gonzaga came out on top 93-90.

On the other side of the bracket it was a little more of a gap between the scores, Houston held their end at the beginning of the game, to later fall and lose to Bayer with a score of 78-59. Going into the Championship game between the Gonzaga bulldogs and the Baylor Bears, Gonzaga definitely was the favorite. Everyone wanted to see that perfect undefeated record, but going into it, they were out rebounded by Baylor, out hustled, out worked, and at the end of it outscored. Baylor won the men’s national championship with a score of 86-70.

On the other side of it, the women’s brackett was interesting too. The final four consisted of South Carolina and Stanford, and on the other side Arizona and UCONN. Arizona won over UCONN with a score of 69-59, and Stanford won over South Carolina with a score of 66-65. Therefore the championship was between Arizona and Stanford. Stanford was the favorite this time, being the one seed and previously giving Ariona two of their five losses earlier in the season. It was a tough fight but Arizona fell to Stanford 54-53.
