Monster Mash Invades High School Hallways
October 26, 2021
Fall has taken hold with Halloween right around the corner and this year the Fair Grove High School Student Council (StuCo) is putting on their first ever Monster Mash for the occasion.
The event will be held October 29th after the football game. Activities will be spread throughout the entire high school building. In the front hall there will be laser tag, in the back hall there will be a haunted maze, and in the lobby there will be even more games.
RayAnn Hupman (11), Vice President of StuCo, emphasized, “We will have a haunted hallway, inflatables, food, laser tag, 9 square, and much more.” Hupman has been in charge of the project, and all planning was done by StuCo.
StuCo has had several meetings to plan for the event. These went smoothly and a great deal of progress was made. They expect a good turn out. All proceeds will go to the StuCo account, which will give the group money for the next event. Tickets are on sale for $10 now, but will be available at the event as well. A ticket will give access to every game and the haunted hallway. Food and drink will be provided.
Alex Kepes (11), President of STUCO, exclaimed, ¨I’m really excited for the haunted hallway high school edition. I think it will have a good sense of nostalgia but also a fresh take.” The haunted hallway has always been a staple of the middle school Monster Mash.
Monster Mash will have a blend of the old and the new. The haunted hallway will be familiar, but inflatables, the maze, laser tags, and other games will be new. This year snacks will be individually packaged. Soda will also be available.
As this will be the first high school Monster Mash, many believe it will be memorable. StuCo is preparing for large numbers that night. ¨We expect a good outcome just because the high school never put on anything like this,” Hupman stated.
Monster Mash has always been an exciting event for the middle schoolers, but this year they won’t be the only ones enjoying the fun thanks to STUCO. There is sure to be a unique spin for this year’s event. With a high turn out expected already, STUCO believes this will be an important event no one wants to miss. Lucas Crutcher (12), member of STUCO, said, ¨It’s important because it is a fun gathering after the football game for students to hang out at.¨
