With the absence of Jon Foster, previous leader of the Christian club called JOLT, four seniors took matters into their own hands to create The CREW: Christians, Ready, Equipped, and Willing.

Alongside CREW’s sponsor, Coach Ryan Buffington, is Zoey Humpan (12), Devin Carroll (12), Macee Mcatee (12), and Kyle Fritts (12). They transitioned JOLT into The CREW. The four senior members of the board decided that it was time for a change and a new name to go along with it.

The launch of The CREW took place on September 22. The meeting revolved around the national event: See You At The Pole. The event included students getting together to pray over their schools, teachers, and administration at the flag pole in front of the school.

The CREW provides a safe space for Christians to come and share the love and passion for Jesus that many people hold deeply in their heart.

Macee Mcatee has been a board member since the launch of The CREW in September. Mcatee shared, “We want to empower students to spread Jesus to their peers.” She then added, “I want people to feel the love and abundance of joy that comes with Jesus. It is a peace that no one should miss out on.”

Mcatee voiced her thoughts on the transition from JOLT with Foster, to their more student ran club, The CREW exclaiming, “We decided to keep GPD going from the club’s previous face: JOLT. GPD was such a hit, we didn’t want to miss an opportunity to share Jesus with the mass of students.”

Mcatee explained that her favorite part of The CREW is coming together and sharing Jesus to all.

Board member, Devin Carroll, has been a part of JOLT since its launch in September as well. Carroll explained what CREW meant to him. He stated, “CREW is just a really cool group of people who like to get together and talk and brag about God.”

Carroll shared, “My favorite part of CREW is the atmosphere it brings. It’s super great to be able to come together with people that have a passion for their faith like you do and it really encourages me.” He added, “CREW is led by four seniors who really just have a passion for wanting to reach out to others about the love that God grants us.”

GPD (gym, pray, doughnuts) has been pushed back one week and will now be held on November 5th. Meetings will be starting up soon, date and times are yet to be announced.
