March 21, 2022
Daryle Orr has served Fair Grove High School on the school board for 10 years. Within those 10 years on the Board of Education he has served as a MSBA (Master of Science in Business Administration) Delegate, Treasurer, and as the Board President for the past seven years.
Fair Grove Superintendent Mike Bell reflects on Orr’s integrity at his job. “Daryle Orr is a consummate professional who truly cares about all students and the school community. He continually places the needs of Fair Grove students first, above personal agendas or political influence. His collaborative approach in leading the Board of Education has been instrumental in the district’s success, making Fair Grove Schools one of the most desirable districts in Southwest Missouri for families to live,” shared Bell.
Before joining the Fair Grove School Board, Orr had an occupation among education in his mind. He explained, “With 5 kids, I had a personal interest and desire in the continued pursuit of excellence in our school.”
Orr went on to reminisce on his favorite accomplishments from being on the school board. “Watching our seniors graduate each year is the greatest reward. We hope that we, as board members, have made the best possible decisions to help our kids reach their goals and prepare them to be productive, responsible, and compassionate citizens,” shared Orr.
Mike Bell, expressed his favorite qualities about Orr. Bell stated, “My favorite attribute of Daryle Orr is his contagious, positive demeanor. No matter the challenge, he looks for solutions that will benefit kids and the school community.”
School board members are in charge of a lot of things. For example, the 4 day week would not have been possible without the Fair Grove School Board making that decision. Board members work hard to build Fair Grove’s reputation in a positive way.
Orr has many goals for the Fair Grove school system. He explained, “I’d like to see continued achievement of a high level of attendance, high test scores, and high student involvement in extracurricular activities, clubs, and athletics.”
