Playing multiple sports and being involved in multiple clubs can be very hard. However, Lauren Thomlinson (12) does it all while keeping up her grades.

Thomlinson is very involved at Fair Grove. “I run cross country and I throw on the track and field team,” said Thomlinson. Not only does she play sports, she is in multiple clubs. “I am involved in FBLA as the President, DECA as the Vice President, Student Council as Treasurer, SADD as Treasurer, NHS as an Executive Council Member, Pep Club as President, FCCLA, and FCA,” Thomlinson explained.

“I have lived in Fair Grove and went to school here my whole life. I have three siblings, two of them go to Strafford,” Thomlinson added. Thomlinson has formed a relationship with Mrs. Overstreet, Fair Grove teacher and FBLA sponsor, who gave intel on their relationship. “Lauren is an officer for FBLA and DECA. I also had her in class junior year. I have also trusted her with my children’s life!” she commented.

Thomlinson explained her plans after graduation, “I plan to attend Drury University on an academic scholarship and double major in marketing/management and accounting. I hope to become a CPA, CFO, or CEO one day.”

Overstreet commented, “Lauren will be successful at whatever she chooses. This is a field that will give her a lot of options, so I am excited for her as long as whatever she chooses she enjoys!”

“Sports have impacted me throughout my high school experience by teaching me how to work hard, persevere, and work well with others,” Thomlinson said.

Mrs. Overstreet explained how impressed she is with Thomlinson, “I know Lauren has high aspirations for herself and is doing everything she can to take the steps to get her there.” She continued, “From a mothers perspective, her parents should be very proud of her. I know they have to be! She is a hard worker in and outside of the classroom.”

Thomlinson explained her interests, “I love to watch sports, workout, and spend time with family and friends.” She loves sports, but is also a big presence in the weight room. She broke the female bench record of 165 lbs and still holds it.

Finally, Thomlinson shared her favorite memories of high school, “My favorite memories are the Forsyth Courtwarming game last year and the volleyball district championship this year.”
