William Reed is a coach and teacher at Fair Grove High School. He teaches weights and coaches High School Baseball.
Coach Reed has been a coach and teacher for nine years. Coach Reed worked in Frisco, Texas for two years and at Kickapoo High School for six years, before coming to Fair Grove High School to teach.
Although Coach Reed coaches baseball right now, in the past he has coached middle school basketball, football, soccer, and even a little bit of pole vaulting. He added, “I grew up playing basketball and baseball and always had a love for sports.”
Coach Reed said that he knew he wanted to be involved in sports from an early age, and he’s known he wanted to coach since he was in high school himself. He explained, “I got my first taste of coaching when I was 16 and helped with a local 11/12U city league team.” He added that he never had a second thought going into college, and continued down a path that would let him coach as well as teach.
Although in the end, he became a baseball coach, he said, “My first love as a young boy was actually basketball.” He continued, “However, baseball quickly became my better sport.”
Reed expressed, “I quickly had the dream of being a baseball head coach. The opportunity to be the head baseball coach at Fair Grove was too good to pass up.”
He said that there are lots of positives to being at Fair Grove but emphasized, “The athletes and support from administration is definitely at the top of the list.”
He added to that and said, “The students are respectful and have great personalities. The administration is extremely supportive and easy to communicate with. I have loved my time here.”
