Mrs. Adina Everett is a reading teacher in the elementary school. She is retiring at the end of this school year after thirty-one years teaching at Fair Grove.
Mrs. Everett will be greatly missed by her friends throughout the school, Mrs. Heather Lumley, Fair Grove’s elementary music teacher, expanded, “There is no one I know that is more dedicated to their profession than Mrs. Everett. She is truly a master teacher. Her ability to help struggling readers is surpassed by none. Her commitment to the educational process and her love for each child is what makes her a cut above the rest.”
Mrs. Everett will be returning to the school part time next year. Dr. Hollan, the elementary principal explained, “We are very fortunate to be able to bring Mrs. Everett back next year part time to allow her to continue to help students grow in reading and writing. Her love for learning is contagious! She is always learning herself and sharing her love for learning with students and staff!” Lumley added, “We are so blessed that she will be returning part time to continue to help children by loving them and teaching them to read. Last summer I tutored some of the same children she helped during summer school. I was constantly going to her for ways to help the children. She is a wealth of information. She is patient to help teachers like me who do not have the knowledge base she has acquired.”
Everett has positively impacted many people during her three decade long career. “Mrs. Everett has positively impacted so many students over the years. She develops their reading and writing skills in a way that builds confidence and the love for reading and writing. She has also positively impacted educators as she has shared her expertise with many,” said Hollan.
Everett says that she is grateful to have been blessed with so many people to help her along over the years, “I am thankful to all the teachers that have helped me grow as a teacher over the years. I have been supported by many great teachers over the years. Fair Grove Elementary has truly been my home away from home.”
