The Middle School Girls Basketball team have just recently started their season, their first game falling on Monday November 2nd.

We have had a great season so far. The 8th grade team is undefeated, and continues to grow as a team. The 7th grade team has only lost 2 games, but both were close. In fact, we only lost to Rogersville by two with a last second shot,” stated coach Carrie Green.

“We have several key players. The 8th graders are a complete unit, and in any given game a different player could step up. The 7th graders are learning and growing each game. I feel like we are improving as a whole every game,” Green expressed.

Coach Green stated, “Because my 8th graders haven’t faced many tough opponents this year, we really focus in practice on being competitive and pushing each other. It really helps the 7th graders to compete against the 8th graders in practice as well.”

“We do have a big tournament coming up, where we are likely to see good games against Skyline and Strafford. Last year, we took home 1st place (as 7th grade) and 3rd place (as 8th grade), and we hope to win both tournaments this season. Our goals for middle school basketball are to improve throughout the season, learn fundamental skills, and have fun!” said Green.

The next Middle School Girls Basketball game is Thursday December 3rd at 5:00 p.m. at Bolivar.
