Spring has come around and baseball teams have begun spring training. Spring training is treated as a warm up to the upcoming season. This is where players and teams will translate things that they have worked on in the offseason to actual game-like situations.

Spring training is a great time for unknown players to make a name for themselves. You often see a variety of players in spring training. Teams won’t usually play their top players the whole time, but they will often give other players their chance to prove their worth.

The teams in spring training will play a total of 28 games, and they will have two off days. All the teams are split into two leagues, these two leagues are the Grapefruit League and the Cactus League. The difference between these two leagues is that the Cactus League is formed of teams that train in Arizona, and teams that train in Florida make up the Grapefruit League.

Although spring training has only been going for a couple of days now, it has been shown who some of the better teams of the season may be. As of right now, the Minnesota Twins and Miami Marlins are the only two undefeated teams in the Grapefruit league. On the other hand, the Kansas City Royals, Los Angeles Dodgers and Milwaukee Brewers are the only undefeated teams in the Cactus League. There are teams who are obvious World Series contenders and teams that are having rebuilding years. It’ll be interesting to see how things look in late October and early November compared to how they do now.
