Led by Mrs. Darci Friberg and her executive council, Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is off to a great start helping the community this school year.

FCCLA has multiple executive council positions including: president, two co-vice presidents, secretary, as well as officers.

FCCLA recently bonded over s’mores at their meeting on Oct. 6. At their meeting they discussed their upcoming trip that has unfortunately been postponed to Oct. 20, expectations, and answered questions. The trip includes a meeting and motivational speaker, as well as a competition to see what school has the most school spirit. The group who wins will take home the Spirit Stick, a prize that the chosen group will get to keep until the next meeting. The rest of the day was spent for club bonding at Silver Dollar City.

Club president Seth Hardison (10) has been a member of FCCLA for two years. He shared his viewpoint on the club and new members, “FCCLA is a great club that everyone can join. FCCLA has a little bit for everyone, no matter if you like the competitions or you just like to help people. FCCLA is truly a club for everyone.”

Hardison mentioned, “I have been a part of FCCLA for so long because it has a great environment and is a ton of fun being a bigger part of the community.” Adding on, he said, “My favorite part about FCCLA is the trips we go on and learning about how the regional office runs.” Hardison then stated that he would like to hold a position in the regional office in the future.

Three year member Madi Ellis (11) holds the position of co-vice president, alongside Krystin Muncy (11). She vocalized her excitement for the club, “I have stayed involved in it because it gives me the opportunity to help the community.” Her favorite part of FCCLA is all of the opportunities to help people and learn leadership skills that will help her in the future.

Natalie Nolan (11) has been a part of FCCLA for only one year. Although a newer member, she still holds the position of being an FCCLA officer. Nolan shared that her favorite part of FCCLA is getting to meet a ton of new people and to put herself out there to make friends and be confident. Nolan verbalized, “FCCLA is a really fun club that everyone should have the opportunity to find out more information about.”
