Using new technology from the Hudl, Fair Grove Sports fans will now be able to watch the Fair Grove High School sports games from the comfort of their homes.

Starting this 2021 basketball season, home games will be livestreamed for viewers through Hudl. High school Assistant Principal, Christian Overstreet, stated, “Hudl is a benefit because people can watch our home games from anywhere as long as they have access to a YouTube account.”

Livestreaming the games is a relatively simple process with the help from the Hudl company. Overstreet explained, “Hudl is the company who provided us the camera’s and live streaming capabilities. The cameras are set up with all our basketball schedules. The times of games and lengths are put into the systems and the cameras will begin recording automatically.”

Family members who aren’t able to attend games due to living elsewhere, parents who aren’t able to presently be there, and other people wanting to watch can now be a part of the fun.

Fair Grove Schools will post this information (a link to the livestream) on their Facebook page whenever games are being live streamed; all you have to do is click on that link to support Fair Grove’s athletes.

Overstreet expressed, “I think it is great because it allows people to still watch and support our teams though they may not be able to attend the games.”

Hudl will even help assistant coaches this year by automatically keeping stats on games. Shots scored, fouls, rebounds, assists, and more are all kept track for each player, making it very accurate and easy for coaches to see.

Hudl also allows players and coaches to select key highlights from games and pull them out for a single video. This will make it easier for players and coaching staff to make highlight videos, depict plays that worked, review good moments in a game, and improve their game all together.

Coaches will be able to see when their players are watching their own Hudl livestreamed games. Hudl will provide a list and record of time for each player on the team showcasing how many games they’ve watched, which game was watched, and how much time in total has been spent on Hudl.

Adding Hudl to our athletic department will offer benefits to our players, their families, and our coaching staff. This livestreaming will be in effect for the upcoming sports seasons this year and the next.
