“The most recent police picture that I have” -Officer Bond.

Since the departure of Officer Porter in 2020, Officer Brandon Bond has been Fair Grove School’s Student Resource Officer with 2022 marking his second year in service to the community.

Officer Bond has many hobbies outside of his job. He’s written and presented a book about the assassination of John F. Kennedy, a former American President. “I had been obsessed with the topic since I was 12 years old and researched it for years. Eventually I gave lectures on it and decided to write a book to put all of my work into one concise form. I still speak to classes about it on occasion, including here at Fair Grove,” Officer Bond stated.

Officer Bond gives these lectures in Jeremy Faubion’s American History class. Faubion shared,  “The whole point of his discussion and book pointed out the large inaccuracies and changing stories by the government when it comes down to the Kennedy assassination and Warren Commission… I, for one, have always had a hard time accepting the fact that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone in this incident. Listening to Officer Bond definitely confirmed that point for me.”

Of the many meaningful moments at Fair Grove, one stood out to Officer Bond. “One of my most meaningful memories of my time here at Fair Grove is when I had a student tell me that they would have committed suicide if it wasn’t for me and my help. This student left the school on bad terms, but I didn’t give up on them and eventually they got the help they needed.  I don’t say that to build myself up; I say it to illustrate the importance of having somebody in your life who cares and will listen. I’m far from perfect and am my own biggest critic, but I will always be there for those who need me,” Officer Bond shared. He remains a positive reinforcement for the community and the students of Fair Grove.

While Officer Bond’s job is often filled with difficulties, he’s had several fun memories made as well. Officer Bond explained, “Another memorable event was when Mr. Foster led his students in a nerf gun ambush on my office. The only one I caught was Lucas Crutcher, who I placed in handcuffs and escorted out until he apologized. Foster was the real criminal mastermind, but he got away.” What makes Officer Bond unique is his easygoing nature, making him more approachable for students and teachers alike.

Joshua Hancock (11) revealed, “He is definitely one of my favorite staff members at the school. He is always in a good mood and if you are having a bad day he can always change the course of your day with jokes he will crack in between classes (he has really good jokes and always has something funny to say, no matter the situation). He is nothing but a positive influence to the students and community. He always has the students’ best interest at heart and he is the only staff member I feel like I could talk to if needed. You can tell he genuinely cares about us students and our well being and wants to see us do great things.”
