Lady Eagles Dribble Through the Season

Earlier this week the Lady Eagles placed second in the 41st Annual Invitation tournament; they now switch gears to take on rival schools in the regular season.
As Coach Jennifer Talbert continues to lead her Lady Eagles throughout the season, she stores a particular strategy for the season. Talbert explained, “I feel like the best thing I can do for the girls is work on their fundamentals and improve their attitude. We have a particular strength in our team and I want to make sure that we use it.” She goes further by stating, “We need to keep focusing on bringing energy everyday, on and off the court. The little mistakes we’re making now will hopefully be cleaned up so we can play our best basketball by February.”
Bradi Weaver (12), the team’s captain, is putting in extra work to ensure that the team continues to do well all throughout the season. Weaver stated, “My team is continuing to partake in vigorous workouts that train us for the real games. Most of the girls (including myself) have been playing basketball for as long as I can remember so I know we can achieve greatness in this season.” Coach Talbert added, “Bradi has a tremendous amount of experience and is always setting the tone of example for the other players.”
Freshman Brooke Daniels (9), has started the season off strongly. Daniels explained, “As a freshman, I’ve looked forward to the competition that comes with high school basketball, so I’ll guarantee that I’m putting one hundred percent of my effort into the rest of the season.”
The girls team is also led by assistant coaches Carrie Green and Jeremy Faubion. Talbert, Green, and Faubion will continue to train the girls and get them in shape, ready for anything that is to come later in the season. Talbert said, “I have been pleased with how our season is going. We play some really tough teams but hopefully that’s just preparing us for districts and beyond.”
The girls regular season dates will range from December 6th, 2021 to February 22nd, 2022. Beginning shortly after that is the Lady Eagles Basketball’s Districts where the girls will fight for a chance at District Champions and hopefully be continuing on to state.
