Pumping Iron at Grove Fitness

Fair Grove’s newly established Grove Fitness recently opened their doors in 2022, ensuring the community and the student body a convenient, affordable, and healthy lifestyle of a local gym.

Grove Fitness is a brand new 24 hour gym center that offers a hefty amount of equipment to the public. Renee Stewart, the owner of Grove Fitness, shared, “We wanted to provide a gym nearby for the community. We enjoy Fair Grove and would like to see our small town grow in size and in health.” Stewart also explained, “The fitness center has also implemented a family plan that merges prices of one or more applicants at an affordable price.”

Bradley Blecher (10), a student at Fair Grove High School, stated, “Living in Fair Grove has its [ups and downs]. Most of the time you would have to travel to Springfield for something like a gym, but with Grove Fitness it would save new drivers like me the gas, time, and money. It’s just so much more convenient that way.” Blecher added, “I would attend Grove Fitness probably three days a week and it wouldn’t even be a problem traveling there.”

With Grove Fitness’ large selection of exercise equipment, it draws in more people who are looking for a particular type of workout. Kristyn Muncy (11), another student at Fair Grove High School, said, “I’d look for something more cardio based like a treadmill, most definitely a squat and bench rack.” Blecher looks for similar equipment when working out at a gym. Blecher commented, “In a gym, I’m usually looking for a bar of some sort to do squats and bench press.”

Students sometimes have difficulty finding time to work out. Muncy shared, “Some students have classes throughout the day that fills their schedule and makes it less likely to take a weights class. And although after school weights is still an option, often school clubs and activities are going on during that time.”

Stewart expressed, “It has brought us so much joy as we see the excitement from people when they walk into Grove Fitness. Our future goals are to meet the needs of this great growing community, not just in Fair Grove but the surrounding area too. Also with the gym being open 24 hours a day, if you are ever feeling like you need an extra stress reliever, the doors are always open.”
