After only attending Fair Grove schools since freshman year, Camille Boyer (10), is said to have made, and is still making, an imprint on her teammates, teachers, and other students.

The move to Fair Grove for Boyer has been a change, but a good one. She shared, “Last year was my first year at Fair Grove, and before this I went to St. Agnes which is an elementary and middle school that’s part of The Springfield Catholic Schools. I really am glad we moved to Fair Grove. There’s definitely some things that are very different but I’m super grateful for the friends I’ve made here.”

As a child, Boyer was put in dance classes as young as 4 years old. “I honestly fell in love with it and by the time I was about twelve I was at the studio almost every day. I’ve performed in many of their shows at the Lander’s Theater including The Nutcracker (which we do every year), Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and Alice in Wonderland,” stated Boyer.

Boyer is not only a good dancer and teammate, but she is also an extremely talented artist. Stephanie Brown, Boyers art teacher, shared, “Camille is one of those kids that is naturally talented. She already knew everything when she came into my class on the first day. All that I have to help with is the fine tuning of her artwork. She is one of the students that I take her work to art shows just to show them off because of how good they are. I would easily say that she is in the top five of most talented kids I’ve ever seen come through my classes.”

“I’ve always loved drawing and painting, but this year I’ve been taking my art a little more seriously. I’m really grateful that I can fit two art classes into my schedule, including advanced art. In that class you pretty much have free reign on your projects and can do whatever you want. I’ve been taking on some larger acrylic painting projects which have been fun because I never really did anything like that in the past. I also started an art Instagram account just a few weeks ago and plan to post my future projects there! (@art_bycamille_),”  Stated Boyer.

Boyer is the oldest of four kids. She has two younger brothers, one is in seventh grade and the other is in third, she also has a younger sister who will be in Kindergarten next year. Her family has always been pretty close. Some activities her family likes to do together are camping, riding bikes, and just spending time outside. The Boyer family makes it a priority to go to church together and watch movies as a family on the weekends.

Boyer is a talented young lady that has a lot on her plate, but just when you think she can’t get more interesting, she does. “I used to play guitar when I was younger and picked it back up at the beginning of quarantine. I haven’t had a lot of proper lessons, but even if you aren’t great at it, I think that playing an instrument is a great creative outlet and I enjoy it a lot. I’ve also always read a lot since I was a little kid, and some of my favorites right now are The Night Circus and the Shatter Me series,” Boyer shared.

Cross country, track, dance, art, music, and reading are a lot of hobbies for one person, however Boyer doesn’t just think of them as hobbies. She says they are just the small things that make her the person that she is today.
