A Glimpse into the New Physician of Fair Grove

January 10, 2022

Five weeks ago, Fair Grove welcomed a new physician to the community, Dr. Michael Henry.

Henry is now open for business in the Fair Grove Medical Clinic right next to the Subway in the shopping center. Rather than being affiliated with Cox or Mercy, this clinic is independent.

“I have been a doctor for 27 years; however, I have been in healthcare for the last 52 years. The kind of work I do can be the most rewarding of all work, as an ER/family physician for 27 years I have helped thousands of patients, some, I even helped save their lives, what could be more rewarding,” Dr. Henry reported. According to the Great Mines Health Center website (gmhcenter.org), he graduated from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences and is board certified in Family Practice.

Although only being in Fair Grove for a short time, Dr. Henry has already received stunning reviews. On the Fair Grove Facebook community page, Leah Teel posted, “I took my children to the new doctor’s office here in town this morning just for routine checkup and let me just say that was the most pleasant experience in a doctor’s office we have had in a long time. He is a wonderful man and my children have decided that’s where they want to continue to go from now on.”

Dr. Henry elaborated, “I was born in a small town in south Arkansas raised on the large farms belonging to other people, picking cotton, working in the fields, with soybean and rice, hard manual labor but no regrets. I live in Republic, Missouri, however, I have been around Fair Grove since meeting my wife Mary, 45 years ago, she was born and raised on a dairy farm just east of town.” Although he isn’t Fair Grove born, he seems well received by the community.

“Prior to being a doctor, I had a variety of jobs, all help me relate to people, however, none were my true calling. This is, and I will do it as long as I can,” Dr. Henry concluded. The grand opening for Fair Grove Medical Clinic was officially on Wednesday, December 29, 2021.
