Middle school science teacher and coach Lindsay Martin has been imprinting on young minds at Fair Grove for years, but who is the educator and coach outside of the lab?

Martin may be a Denver Broncos fan, but she is a Fair Grove Eagle through and through. Martin is a dedicated science educator who teaches seventh and eighth grade science as well as physical science. Like the students she teaches, she was also influenced by her educators to pursue becoming a teacher. Martin explained, “I would say that many of the teachers and professors I had throughout my entire schooling had an enormous influence on my decision to teach.”

Her success in the classroom also reaches the track. While balancing the life of a teacher, Martin is a coach for the Fair Grove Lady Eagles Track Team.

As the Lady Eagles track coach, Martin has influenced so many of her athletes and it hasn’t only been in an athletic setting either. Kameron Green (11) shared, “Coach Martin has always been a person that I can depend on and I know she will always be in my corner encouraging and pushing me. She always makes sure that I am doing well and she is always there for me when I need someone to talk to.” Martin truly proves that being a coach is much more than just pushing your athletes to the best athletic ability they can be.

When Martin isn’t teaching students about the stars or watching the track team collect district titles, she enjoys the simpler things in life. Martin is a proud dog mom of her pup Clint Eastwood. Martin expressed her affection toward him and how her little angel is a gorgeous pup with bi-color eyes and a pink spotted nose. Martin enjoys several hobbies outside of her love for the pooch. “I love anything outdoors, I love to keep up with and watch and play all sports (especially the NFL), reading, or doing my own home renovations,” shared Martin.

Many of her athletes and pupils share great memories with her. Kaitlyn Mueller (11), detailed her favorite memory with Martin. Mueller explained, “My favorite memory was our trip back from the Willard track meet in the driver’s ed car and the windshield wipers broke while it was still raining outside.”

Through rain and shine Martin continues to be a successful teacher, coach, dog mom and above all a role model.
