Chris Stallings, the Fair Grove High School Head Principal, will begin the 2022-2023 school year as the newly established Director of Education to continue to ensure the best education for Fair Grove students.

Over the past 11 years, Stallings has been a vital member to the success of the Fair Grove schools as principal. He has been assistant principal for four years and head principal for seven. As the 2022-2023 Fair Grove school year approaches, Stallings will take over as Director of Education and Learning. Stallings will be responsible for assisting Mike Bell, the Fair Grove Superintendent, on our district’s day-to-day operations and serving as the communications director for the district.

Stallings explained, “I will be working with our teachers to ensure that we are always moving forward to increase our students’ academic achievement through collaboration, effective instruction, and a challenging and engaging learning curriculum aligned to the state standards.” Stallings will be working from the central office, more specifically, in Lisa Bernett’s (who will be retiring at the end of this year) current location.

Stallings has many degrees in the education field, including a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction, Bachelors in Education and Social Studies, and a Masters/Specialist in Education Administration. Bell stated, “Mr. Stallings is a great person for this specific job, his depth of instructional knowledge, extensive curriculum expertise, and proven leadership abilities equip him with the skill set to lead FGS into the future as Executive Director of Teaching and Learning.”

The impact of Stalling’s presence at Fair Grove has been more than tremendous. Bell commented, “His perseverance and dedication for preparing successful graduates, as well as his charge to encourage all students to get involved in the high school experience, has made Fair Grove High School one of the most desirable schools in Southwest Missouri. We are all proud to have called him our principal over the years.”

Stallings shared, “I am excited for the new opportunities, but I will miss the students. I love getting the opportunity to interact with them each day. Visiting with students brings energy to my day, so I will be actively finding ways to build relationships with students with this new position.”
