Thursday, October 6, the Fair Grove Volleyball team took home a big win against Strafford, final scores were 21-25, 18-25, 26-24, 25-22, 15-12.

Tonya Peck, the girls’ volleyball coach, said this game was a hard fight, which made the win all the more rewarding. “We all go into the game with the expectation to win. Sometimes we have to battle harder than others but that makes the victory even sweeter,” she said.

The Eagles saw some setbacks at the beginning of the game but fought to take home a victory. “The best part of the night was seeing the team fight to come from behind and win the match,” Peck said, “It showed some big time grit!”

This game was important to the girls because it was a conference game, but according to Peck, it was a little more. “This was more than just a conference game. This victory has been a long time coming,” she explained. This was the Eagle’s first victory against Strafford in 4-5 years. “For this group to get the win is huge,” Peck added.

Finally, Peck commended the girls’ hard work, “I am extremely proud of the girls. The fight from every single player, on the court or on the bench, was a phenomenal sight to see.”
