With regular season basketball starting to come to a close, the junior varsity basketball players are saying goodbye to the season.

Fair Grove girls and boys junior varsity basketball teams have been on top of their games, with both teams currently sitting on a winning record. Jalen Supancic is the head coach of the boys junior varsity team. He stated,Our season is going very well. The boys are all working very hard and have been improving each day. We have been lucky enough to play in several tournaments and have been playing against good competition in order to continue and prepare the team for playing at the next level.”

Girls junior varsity coach Jeremy Faubion agreed with Supancic, “The JV season has been going well.  The girls practice and play hard, and are fun to be around.  We are having a good season.”

Both teams are currently living up to their coaches expectations with both having kind words for their players. Supancic exclaimed, “They are definitely living up to my expectations. As a team we have the expectation to continue to work and improve both their game and their character on and off the court. These guys are exceeding those expectations and have continued to be a positive influence on the program.” Faubion added about his girls, “Our expectations as a program are to compete and play hard every year, and to improve as the season progresses. This year we have improved our JV schedule and added C games when possible.  We have been very competitive and have won a lot of games this season.”

According to Faubion, the girls team has many freshmen making a grand entrance into the high school basketball world, “We have a lot of freshmen also making an impact on this team, and they are gaining a lot of experience which is good for the future of our program.”

Both teams have games coming up with the girls playing their conference games. Faubion added, “We have a rematch with El Dorado Springs coming up, who beat us a few weeks ago.  And we always end the season playing our maroon-wearing rivals from down the highway, the Strafford Lady Indians.”  The boys last home game will be against Strafford on February 17th.
