Student council, or STUCO, is a club of students with representatives from each grade. There are 31 members in Student Council this year.

STUCO’s primary purpose is to promote citizenship and school spirit. They plan many of the school’s activities. Student Council’s main sponsor Michael Van Cleave stated, “Our biggest events are homecoming and courtwarming, but we also plan assemblies and spirit weeks, and this year we sponsored a trip to the Verona Corn Maze at Halloween.”

In STUCO there are many cabinet roles. There are Class Presidents for each grade, Student Body President, Student Body Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Social Chair.

Atticus Brandes, Sophomore Class President, said, “I mostly ran for class president because I like to talk to people and I wanted to take on a new challenge.” He also said that he liked STUCO because it is a great opportunity to meet new people and socialize with his peers around him.

Keith Nolan, Freshman Class President, stated, “The thing that I like most about STUCO is the environment. It’s a safe place where I know I can be me.” He also explained why he wanted to run for class president. He felt like he was someone who was well versed with his own grade and the other grades.

Brandes added, “Student council has been fun over the years and I will hope to make a positive impact in the future.”
