I am proud of what they have accomplished thus far (1st place Pleasant Hope Tournament, MLC Champs, 1st seed in districts, and a current record 14-4), but I don’t think they are finished just yet.” Coach Whetzell wasn’t wrong when she said she didn’t think they are finished yet, the Softball team won districts on May 9th. They then continued on to state where they took third place.

Fair Grove High School Golf has had a good season with players making improvements throughout the season, Coach Bryan Tucker said, “Our season has gone pretty much the way I thought it would. It has been fun to see new golfers learn the game and continue to improve throughout the season.”  The Golfers had districts on Monday the 8th, Atticus Brandes (10) qualified for the state tournament which happened on May 15th and 16th. Brandes placed 35th overall at the state tournament.

Fair Grove High School Baseball season was 14 – 16 in their 2023 season, Gabe Muncy (10) a baseball player on the team shared, “Since we are a young team we needed to make a lot of improvements, keeping our batting averages up, our pitches consistent, and our mentality sharp.” The baseball team had a pretty good season, Muncy explained, “We played a lot of tougher teams out of state, and actually won a few of them. I think all of our plans weren’t to do as good as we did.”

Fair Grove High School Girls Soccer season record was 2 – 25 in their 2023 season, Karla Sabata (10) a player on the team said, “This season has been really good for the team. We have improved a lot together, not only on the field but also outside.  This has been a fantastic  building season. We started pretty rough, but game after game and mistake after mistake we’ve found ourselves and the things we’re good at.”

The Softball team are district champs and placed 3rd in the State Championship, and for a group of track athletes their sports are continuing on to state on the 26th and 27th of may.
