With a new year comes new faces. Along with those being the new Health, PE and girls weights coach, Kayley Frank.
Frank has had experience in school sports. Frank stated, “I played High School Softball and Basketball at Strafford. Then I went on to continue my basketball career at College of the Ozarks.” Frank’s job position will be the assistant High School girls Basketball coach and the Head Middle School Softball coach.
Outside of school and coaching Frank says that she enjoys putting her motivations and interests into other hobbies. “I enjoy working out, spending time with friends, hiking, spending time outside, and spending time at the lake.” She is a very active person whose upbringing consisted of spending time outside and focusing on her sports. Frank has always been dedicated and motivated to a sports related career.
Frank was quickly welcomed and respected by both the staff and students at Fair Grove High School. ”My first impression of Fair Grove is that all the staff was very welcoming and made me feel like I was at home. They were very helpful and approachable with anything I needed. I could tell there were great students at Fair Grove due to the respect they showed me and their peers,” Frank said.
Frank believes that there are many qualities that determine a coach but the most important are, “respect and relationships,” explained Frank. She then added, “I think you can push athletes harder when you have a better rapport with them.” She plans on using these qualities to be the best coach she can be for Fair Grove athletes.
Frank not only wants to be an influence through her coaching but her teaching as well. She states, “I just hope I can be a light to all students. My basketball career throughout high school and college made me want to become a teacher. I saw the impact in many ways I could have on younger kids specifically, and I knew I wouldn’t be playing basketball forever. In order to continue impacting others, but I can do that through coaching and teaching now.”
