On November 20th, the current Fair Grove High School Principal, Dr. Christian Overstreet, was officially announced as the school’s new superintendent. Overstreet will be taking the place of Mike Bell, who has served Fair Grove for a decade, and has been committed to the district for 25 years.
According to a post by the Fair Grove R-X School District facebook page, Fair Grove’s new superintendent brings experience and knowledge. Overstreet obtained a bachelor’s degree from Missouri State University, along with a masters degree and education doctorate from Lindenwood University. Overstreet brings over 13 years of experience to the district, from a dedicated coach and teacher, to a Fair Grove administrator.
Being the current principal, Overstreet has experience with Fair Grove, and knows how to continue on the successful path he plans to achieve. Overstreet exclaimed, “As the new superintendent, I look forward to building on the strong foundation and vision of success that has been in place for many years.” Overstreet continued, “This includes a commitment to academic and extracurricular excellence, strong community partnerships, and a commitment to supporting Fair Grove Schools’ unbelievable teachers, faculty, and staff.”
Overstreet had previously been serving as the assistant principal for seven years, and recently the high school principal for three.
Trilby Workman, the Fair Grove High Secretary, has an office right next to Overstreet. “My overall experience with Dr. Overstreet has been very positive. His passion and commitment to our school shows everyday, you can tell he cares about our students and staff and wants what’s best for everyone.” Workman continued, “He makes FGHS a fun and inviting place to be, from welcoming students at the front door everyday to leading community wide assemblies. When your boss loves his job, it makes it easy to love your job.”
Workman continued to describe the atmosphere of the Fair Grove Administrative force. “Our administration team has been a great fit. Mr. Seiger, (Athletic Director) and I both started the year Dr. Overstreet became principal and the atmosphere they create together makes our office thrive.” Workman continued, “It’s been a fun team to be a part of and I’m sad to see it moving in a different direction, but excited at the same time to see what a new principal will bring and the growth Dr. Overstreet will add to the district.”
Overstreet explained his love for Fair Grove, and his focus to the community for the upcoming years. He stated, “Fair Grove is special to my family because of the people and culture that make up our school community. The high levels of engagement and support from our community separate our school district from others.” Overstreet concluded, “We live in a school community that bleeds purple and is passionate about excellence in all academic and extracurricular pursuits.”
New Superintendent Dr. Overstreet will start his appointed position by the board July 1st, 2025.
