Keith Nolan (12) a senior at Fair Grove High School, is involved in National Honor Society (NHS), Marching, Jazz, Pep, and Concert Band serving as the Low Winds Captain, Field Commander and Band Manager. Keith is also making a major impact on the Fair Grove High School as Student Body President for Fair Grove Student Council.
Nolan has been involved in the Fair Grove Band ever since he was a middle schooler, as Natalie Palomo, the Band Director at Fair Grove Schools explained, “I remember him as a little 5th grader in my class, and even then, he would help out when he could and ask lots of questions. As he joined the band and has grown through that program, that hasn’t changed. He still asks lots of questions, works hard at his music, and strives to be his best version of himself.”
Bailey Weaver, the Fair Grove High School English 2, 3 and Literature of the Bible Teacher, explained Nolan’s personality as a student aiding alongside her 4th Hour English 2 class. She said, “Keith is a bright and wonderful human being! He is funny and insightful and he is someone who can always be relied on. His character and heart shine through in his words and actions every day. He’s a gem.”
Throughout his high school years, Nolan always wanted to show others and himself that change is 100% possible. Nolan explained, “I believe that during my time at Fair Grove, I have shown others that change is 100% possible and that change is good. Early in my time at Fair Grove I wasn’t the best person for myself or to others. After working on myself and most importantly after finding God, I realized that I needed to be a better person. God has helped me become a better person and has helped me through so much.”
Nolan described one of his favorite memories during his time at Fair Grove, “My favorite memory from going to school at Fair Grove is every time that I got to make a new friend. I have truly enjoyed every single moment that I have gotten to interact with someone. I have enjoyed talking, collaborating, and working with other students and teachers through these years.”
As Nolan’s senior year comes to an end, the memories, achievements, and overall time at Fair Grove will have an impact on Nolan now and even after graduation stating, “Something from Fair Grove that will stay with me after graduation is the overall sense of community. Fair Grove has taught me that we can all be a family and that we should treat each other in that way. As the famous quote says, ‘In this family, no one fights alone!’”
