Fair Grove Middle School Student Council has been planning and preparing for the seventh and eighth grade Middle School dance. The theme for the dance is “Under the Sea” and is taking place on Friday, February 14th, 2025 in the commons.
The sponsor of Fair Grove Middle School Student Council is Lindsay Martin, a science teacher at the middle school. Martin explained the effort that goes into the middle school dance starts with planning it early. She said, “We plan out every detail of the dance about a month in advance during eagle hour. We voted on a theme and just went from there!”
Maggie Johnson is an eighth grader and a member of the Middle School Student Council. Johnson explained her favorite part of planning the dance is decorating. Johnson said, “Our theme gave us a very wide variety of options and we found some really cool stuff! I think it is going to look great!”
Martin explained how middle school dances are often tinged with a hint of awkwardness and confidence that comes with the experience of intermediate school. She stated that these feelings are her favorite part of planning and chaperoning the dance. Martin said, “It sounds like a contradiction, but that explains a middle school dance really well.”
Johnson explained that she thinks her classmates favorite part of this year’s dance is going to be the food that is at the dance. Johnson said, “Knowing my peers I’m going to have to say the snacks. When I brought them up a lot of the kids got excited. I’m hoping they are excited for the playlist too because it is going to be really great!”
The dance’s theme is “Under the Sea” and it will take place on February 14th, 2025 from 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM.
