From participating in extracurricular activities to engaging in class discussion, the new students at Fair Grove are quickly becoming part of the family.
New students, from various backgrounds and locations have settled in well, thanks to the warm welcome they have received from their peers. While changing schools is not always the easiest thing to do, there are always new perspectives and opportunities that come with it.
Jade Lipe (10) said, “It can be hard sometimes but you always got to just keep pushing until you get to the point you wanna be at.” She added, “Which is to keep your grades up, not getting in trouble, not doing stupid things, and keeping your head up no matter what and always stay strong.”
As the school year proceeds, there are many more opportunities revealing themselves. Stokes implied that she is driven by her passion for school clubs and sports.
Since joining the Fair Grove community, Charli Stokes (9) has become a member of FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America), FCA (Fellowship of Christian athletes), and is a part of both the softball and volleyball teams. She said, “I have been in FCA and it is a big aspect in my life. To bring the Lord to school is so important to me.”
She also stated, “I love softball and volleyball but softball is definitely my favorite sport. I mean I eat, sleep and breathe softball. I definitely wouldn’t know what I would do if I didn’t play softball.”
Lipe communicated, “I’ll tell you I’m really not a sports player at school, but I like to play them at home with friends and family.” Although Lipe is not driven by sports, she finds her motivation in other ways.
She said, “What motivates me is music, my friends, and my mom. But most of all my mom. Her name is Cheree, she helps me through everything.”
As the new students continue to settle in, the Fair Grove community looks forward to seeing the unique contributions they will make. Stokes shared, “My academic goal is to give 110 percent effort at every sport that I do and I want to be the best I can be. God gave me an ability to play sports and why waste it staying at home not being active.”
Stokes stated, “The atmosphere is so much different than any other school I have ever gone to.” She continued, “It was very welcoming and everyone made me feel very at home and the culture is amazing. I feel like it is just a very welcoming and loving place.”
