Since 2019, The School Board of Education Vice President, Mr. Tanner Dowling, has been working hard to bring his diverse skill sets, leadership qualities and overall incredible hardworking nature to Fair Grove High School and the students within it.
The School Board of Education is an important and essential part of the success that takes place at Fair Grove Schools. Mr. Mike Bell, the superintendent at Fair Grove Schools explained, “The Fair Grove Board of Education is a dedicated group of elected community members responsible for setting policies, overseeing the district’s financial health, and ensuring that our schools provide high-quality education for all students…”
Bell added, “A strong and effective school board is essential for the success of Fair Grove Schools, as it helps ensure that students receive the best possible education in a safe and supportive environment.”
Since day one Dowling has always wanted to give back to the community and help in any way possible. This passion would eventually lead to the sole reason behind joining the school board.
Dowling explained, “I LOVE OUR COMMUNITY, and this was just one way that I could give back to a community that I am very proud of. My mother was an educator for 36 years and my career is in engineering so I felt I could be an asset to our school system leaning on knowledge from her experiences within a school and on the facilities side from experiences in my line of work.”
Cheryl Kepes, the President of the School Board of Education explained Dowling’s work ethic for the Fair Grove school district and community, “Tanner Dowling brings a diverse set of skills and expertise to the district. As a business owner, cattle producer, and committed community member, Tanner possesses extensive knowledge and leadership qualities that are incredibly valuable to Fair Grove Schools.”
Kepes continued, “He serves with integrity and a strong commitment to ensuring that students, teachers, and staff have the necessary resources and support for success.”
Cinch Dowling (9), the son of Mr. Dowling, explained his personal view on his father and what he does for not just his family but the community as a whole, “My dad is a really fun and hard-working person. He’s always making sure everyone enjoys themselves, whether it be playing cards or talking about his beloved cows. However, he is also highly dedicated to his line of work and works diligently at whatever he gets his hands on. Whether it’s on the farm at home, among friends, or in the workplace, he works his hardest and takes pleasure in assisting others.”
Dowling has worked his hardest to make sure the school district and community is always on its way to success, but in the end he simply wants to thank the amazing people in the community.
Dowling explained, “I would like to say THANK YOU, publicly, to all of the excellent educators that choose to share their time and be invested in our school and kids at Fair Grove. Growing up with an educator myself I realize the job can seem thankless at times and it is my personal opinion that you likely have one of the most crucial roles in American society so I hope it never goes unnoticed how much you are appreciated.”
