Shiawa Page, 3rd grade Fair Grove Elementary teacher has had 14 years of experience in her career. She teaches a variety of subjects to her students and has been giving the kids the information and encouragement they need to succeed.
Page has been teaching at Fair Grove now for four years. Before she came to Fair Grove there was another job experience that she had. To start, she had been working at a school, Pate Early Childhood Center, in Aurora MO for about 10 years. During her time there, she taught kindergarten and first grade. One of those years, she said that she ended up teaching online for grades kindergarten, first grade, and second grade.
Even though she has been teaching for several years now, she explained that this wasn’t at first what she wanted to do in life. She said, “Teaching wasn’t something I initially planned to do, however, I have found something that I truly enjoy doing.”
Even though teaching wasn’t what she planned on doing, she shared that she loves this job. She explained that not only does she love it, but she enjoys seeing these students grow and learn as individuals.
One of her colleagues, Stacy Lair, Fair Grove Elementary teacher, has had great experiences with Page and has known her since she started working at the school.
The first time they met, she explained, “I actually met her during our Back to School PD (professional development) days one year. We were participating in an intruder drill and we found ourselves hiding in the same storage room.”
Lair continued and went on to explain that since knowing Mrs. Page she seems like an amazing teacher. Not only that, but Lair explained how Page seems to have a high standard for her students and has fun in the process of teaching her kids.
Throughout the several years that Page has been a teacher, she has taught all subjects and been in many different work environments. She stated that she has always loved to teach the topics reading and science the most.
Page shared that she continues to learn and grow along with her students each and every day to help her students become the best they can be.
