Fair Grove High School has recently introduced an art show. The show highlights the creative talents Fair Grove students have to offer, bringing in high school, and middle school projects. The events’ hosts are Fair Grove’s high school art teachers Stephanie Brown, and Kezai Price.
Price explained what projects were incorporated in the ‘Night of Arts.’ “The art show displays artwork from 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th grade, HS art 1, HS advanced ceramics, HS mixed media, HS drawing and painting, and finally HS advanced art students.”
The art show is not just hosted for students and staff members to just see art, but to show creativity to the community as well. Price shared, “Mrs. Brown, Mrs. Palomo, Mrs. Harmon, and I started the night of the arts last year to showcase the amazing dedication and talent our students have here at Fair Grove.” Price continued, “We want to honor our student’s hard work and creativity. We also wanted to foster a sense of community and appreciation for the arts as a whole by inviting family, friends, or anyone from the area to the art show.”
Brown explained, “Hosting a Night of the Arts is important for our community because it gives students a platform to express their creativity, share their perspectives, and build confidence in their talents.” Brown continued, “It brings me so much joy to see our community amazing by the talent our schools have to offer and to hear them talk about our student’s ideas and abilities. This event brings people together to celebrate our art programs and fosters a sense of pride and connection.”
Due to unfortunate circumstances the choir, who performs along with the jazz band, were not able to perform at the Night of Arts this year. However, the Jazz band with Mr. Rich were able to attend to help promote and sell their album.
The show took effort, time, creativity, and preparation. Price explained “…The week before the Night of Arts is when the real hustle happens. Mrs. Brown, Mrs. Harmon, myself, several middle school and high school students, and even Mrs. Small chipped in to help prep and hang artwork. It took an extra fifteen hours in total and numerous helpers to set everything up.”
The Fair Grove art show really helps captivate new moments when different people every year are making new art pieces. Price added, “…Nothing is better than seeing our students spend hours creating beautiful original artwork and witnessing community members, family, or friends awestruck by it. We love what we do and those moments are why we invest hours into the art show.”
Fair Grove’s art show, Night of Arts concluded on April 16th. Parents, family, and the Fair Grove community admired the student’s artwork for the night. Much work and preparation reflected through the night full of art.
