Colleen Wingo is a First Grade Teacher for the Fair Grove School District. She has worked for the Fair Grove School District for the past five years. This year (2024-2025) will be her sixth year at Fair Grove.
Wingo commented, “My favorite thing about working at Fair Grove is the culture. We are a very tight knit community and it is the best. There are always people there to help when you need it and people genuinely care about each other.”
There are a lot of tasks that come with Wingo’s job as a first grade teacher. Wingo stated, “The most important thing I do is build relationships. Once you have a relationship with a child and they understand that you love them and care about their success, they will want to do it for themselves and you.”
Leah Masters is one of multiple other teachers that Wingo works with in the first grade program. This will be Masters’ second year working with Wingo. Master commented, “It has been wonderful working with someone who is always easy to be around, and someone who always keeps things real. Wingo is very approachable and always lends a listening ear.”
Masters spoke about how nice and how great of a person Wingo is. She said how great of a friend Wingo is and how great she is to her students.
With six years of experience, there are many memories that could be made. Even with all these memories that were made, Wingo has a favorite. Wingo stated, “My favorite memory is taking my students to the Native American exhibit at Wonders of Wildlife last year and taking all kinds of fun/silly pictures with them!”
Masters stated, “Mrs.Wingo is always so encouraging and a great listener. She is truly so kind and brings great insight and perspective into discussion and conversations. She is such a kind friend to all, and is always fun to have around. She is a strong leader, and has great discernment that sets a great example for her students.
