At the end of every Fair Grove school year, 8th grade students say goodbye to their middle school facility and are welcomed into high school. Students in the 8th grade class prepare themselves for the next four important years to come.
The 2029 class at Fair Grove are soon going to become Freshman students in high school. Though it is a big step, the students are ready and are excited to move up in this chapter of life.
Ty Hart (8), is an incoming freshman. Hart explained that he was not nervous at all for the incoming freshman year. He also added that though the grades and tests are important, he is not nervous for them and believes that he will do just fine in his freshman year.
Another incoming freshman, Adley McMillian (8), is excited for her freshman year. She stated that there was nothing she was worried about for the upcoming year to come. She also said that none of the important tests and grades aren’t worrying her at all. Though she did add that she might worry about them in the future.
With coming into high school, this gives students more opportunities and new things to do. Things involving new clubs, sports, and maybe new friends and teachers. Though it might seem overwhelming, the upcoming class seems excited.
Hart explained, “I’m planning on joining Soccer and Track.” He also added that something he was looking into doing was NHS, which is the National Honor Society.
McMillian said that she was really looking forward to having Mr. Robertson as a science teacher. She stated that she had him last year, and is really looking forward to having him as a teacher again.
Something else McMillian is looking forward to doing in the high school is the clubs and sports that are offered. She said that she wanted to join the high school track team, and that she also was hoping to join high school FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes).
Transitions are all around, including graduating seniors, upcoming upperclassmen, and everything in between. The 8th grade students will be moving up to the freshman plate next school year in August 2025.
