As the 2025-2026 school year, Fair Grove Lady Eagles volleyball is starting their season. They are continuing to make their way through the season and are progressing forward through the changes of the team and coaching staff.
In the past two years the volleyball team won state. Last year the volleyball team had eight seniors who graduated making space for new players to step up.
Assistant Coach Morgan Roepke said, “My expectations for this season are for the girls to work hard and win as many games as possible. Many people assume that since we graduated 8 seniors, we will have a down year. These girls just might prove you wrong.”
This season they have played 12 matches and are now at seven wins and five losses. They are filling old spots and working on recovering from injuries. They have a roster of 26 players this season and are working to connect with each other.
Andie Evans (9) explained, “My expectations for this season are to get better, build some team friendships, and get my name out there.” She added, “I think the biggest thing that we’ve done as a team is build some great connections.”
They have played two tournaments and they played their first season game on 9/2. They have 13 more games excluding post season games. This year Dani Kepler moved to the head coach position after previously being the assistant coach. Now they have two new assistant coaches, Morgan Roepke and Shyan Lankford.
The dynamic of the team has changed from the previous years, Sofee Garrett (12) explained, “This season will be a lot different than last year because our connection with each other is different. We haven’t played with each other as long and it’s just a big adjustment. I also think the personalities on the team are different this year. The team will have to fight more to win a point but we will still be a talented team that’s hard to beat.”
Their next game is the Buffalo Lady Bison Invitational tournament on Saturday, September 20th.
