Fair Grove High School has hired Jake Henson as a new teacher and coach for our football and wrestling programs.
Henson wanted to pursue coaching from the positive influences that his past coaches have had on him, “What made me want to become a coach was all of the great coaches from my youth who have left great influences on me.”
While being excited to coach, he is also aware of the challenges he must face. Henson shared, “My expectations at Fair Grove are nothing short of just striving for greatness in everything we do here.”
Henson will also be coaching the wrestling team this upcoming season too and has wrestled in the past. Christ Holt is the head coach of wrestling and shared that Henson is well acquainted in both football and wrestling.
“I know Coach Henson played football in high school, but he wrestled in high school and college and had a successful career during that time. He has great knowledge of wrestling and loves the sport. He seems excited to start the season and be able to coach our wrestlers,” Holt stated.
Holt has trust in Henson’s capabilities of being a coach and the ability to start building the football program, “Coach Henson is a new coach, but he knows the sport. I am looking forward to him helping to build our program.”
Henson expressed his excitement for coaching this year, “A big reason I wanted to be a Fair Grove Eagle is the traditions and standards that were already in place that I felt I could contribute to in a positive way!”
