Fair Grove Middle School has officially started their volleyball season. The eighth grade team currently has a record of 4-1 and the seventh grade team currently has a record of 4-0.
The team will be led by two coaches this year, head coach, Katie Fender, and assistant coach, Lanae Shockley. Fender stated, “My main goals for the girls are growth, having a love for volleyball, and winning games.” Addison Miller (8) and Karis Peck (8) expressed that one of their goals for the season was to place/win their conference tournament.
Peck commented, “We have been playing together since 5th or 6th grade. So we know each other’s strengths and weaknesses.”
Miller stated, “A personal goal for me is for people to be able to come up to me and say, ‘you really cheered me up’ or ‘Thanks for being a good friend/teammate’.”
The next scheduled game for the Lady Eagles is 9/25 at Buffalo.
