After the class of 2025 has left Fair Grove High School, a new group of kids, the class of 2029, jump into the ninth grade.
As the first month of school comes to a close, they have experienced how it is being a high schooler. Freshman, Olivia Broyles, explained her feelings about the first week, “The first few days of school I was pretty nervous for the year. I didn’t know the teachers yet and honestly didn’t know what to expect.” She added, “My first week of school was very good. Getting to know my teachers and finding my classes was very easy.”
On the other hand, freshman, Carlie Krider, mentioned, “I’m not too nervous about this year because all my friends are with me, and I’m focusing more on enjoying it than stressing it.”
As the class of 2029 enters high school, there are more opportunities to get involved. Freshman, Jacob Ahnen, said, “I’m looking forward to new opportunities in high school… my favorite one is probably baseball. I’ve played it the longest and it is the most fun for me.”
Broyles expressed her excitement for sports, “I am on the volleyball and cheer team and I am excited for both of those seasons to start.” She added, “If I had to pick a favorite I would probably choose volleyball… I am very excited to see what our team will accomplish this season.”
Kayla Holt, the eighth grade English teacher, said, “They were willing to put in the work and asked questions to improve their skills. I had the opportunity to coach several girls in cheerleading and track and field.” Holt added, “I loved coaching the class of 2029. They really worked hard and wanted to succeed.”
As the students of the class of 2029 transition their way into high school, there are new opportunities and openings. They continue to showcase their work ethic and want to succeed in these new opportunities.
