The streets of Fair Grove were packed once again for the 2025 Fall Festival, also known as the Fair Grove Heritage Reunion. Held on September 27th and 28th, the festival brought thousands of people to town to enjoy food, crafts, live music, and a look at local history at the Wommack Mill.
Hosted by the Fair Grove Historical and Preservation Society, this event happens every year on the last full weekend of September. It’s free to attend and includes a huge craft fair, food venders, a parade, and fun activities for all ages.
One of the biggest parts of the weekend is the parade, which goes through downtown Fair Grove and draws a huge crowd. Floats from Fair Grove sports teams, marching band and color guard, school clubs, and even local businesses roll by, along with classic cars, tractors, and horses.
“I always look forward to the parade,” said Middle School Vice Principal Samantha Orr. She continued, “It’s so fun to see our students representing their teams and clubs. The energy is just amazing.”
This year the Fair Grove Middle School had a booth for the first time. Orr expressed, “It was a great experience for us to raise money for our students and connect with the community.”
Orr has been attending the festival for years, “I went to the festival as a student, and now I’ve been going as a teacher for nine years.” She expressed, “I love getting funnel cake and watching the parade.”
High school teachers also love the event. “I have been going ever since I started working here, 24 years now,” said Amy Johnson, the Fair Grove High School Government, Psychology, and World Cultures teacher. She continued, “It can be stressful getting ready, but the school support is amazing. I love seeing students who have graduated and families I’ve known for years.”
The Fair Grove Algebra 1, Calculus and Pre Algebra teacher, Susanne Feldman, added, “It’s such a blessing to see so many friendly faces. I also love how the community comes together to support all the clubs and small businesses.”
Feldman expressed her favorite part of the festival, “Hearing what everyone’s ‘must do’ or ‘must eat’ is. From root beer to tater twists, everyone has something they look forward to.”
Even local businesses get involved. Kelsey Smoot, who works for Complete Realty in Fair Grove, said, “The festival really shows off the heart of the community. Everyone comes together, and it’s such a special time.”
With perfect weather, new vendors, delicious food, and a community that always shows up, the 2025 Fair Grove Fall Festival was a weekend to remember.
