The 2025-2026 Fair Grove Pep Club has changed its structure to improve the school spirit shown at sporting events.
Teacher and Pep Club Sponsor, Cayse Overstreet, explained, “The Pep Club has become more organized than ever before. Fair Grove’s Pep Club now has an officer team that is working hard to make this a successful year. A few goals this year are to streamline communication through social media and within the school, offer a passport incentive, and provide a three-shirt bundle to make it easy for all students to participate.”
The Pep Club is an extracurricular club that all high school students are welcome to join. Overstreet explained, “The goal of the Pep Club is to build school spirit, pride, and unity by supporting athletic teams, school events, and student activities. Members work to create a positive and energetic atmosphere through cheering, organizing spirit days, making posters, planning pep rallies, and encouraging participation from the entire student body.”
The Pep Club officer team is comprised of the President, Dylan George (12), Vice President, Leila Huff (12), Secretary, Hali Stokes (12), Social Media Manager, Addyson Nunley (12), Theme Captains, Carson Trussell (12) and Macklen Johnson (12), Junior Officers, Elliot Ackerson (11) and Aubrie Voorhis (11), Sophomore Officers, Mckenna Zanzie (10) and Trey George (10), and Freshman Officers, Ty Hart (9) and Taylor Lumley (9). The pep club meets once a month to prepare for upcoming events.
The goal of the officer team is to improve the coordination, participation, and spirit at events. Theme Captain, Trussell said, “I love Fair Grove and I want to be a part of the community. I love getting crazy during games, there’s nothing like it.”
The restructuring of the Pep Club has already led to noticeable changes. Overstreet noted, “I have already seen passion and excitement from our first officer team, and I can’t wait to see the impact it has on our student body!”
President, George added, “As an athlete myself, I can say that when you have support from the crowd it makes all the difference.” The Pep Club tries to go to as many school events as possible to support student athletes.
For the 2025-2026 school year, Principal, Randie Roepke, recruited several teachers to work together to improve the structure of the Pep Club. Overstreet said, “We all see the importance of positive culture in the classroom and strive to see an extension of that on the playing field!”
