Addison Miller is an eighth grader at Fair Grove Middle School and is very involved with the sports and clubs that the school has to offer. She has made it her mission to spread kindness to her fellow classmates and those around her.
Miller is currently involved in volleyball and STUCO (Student Council). Other school sports she plays during the winter season include basketball as well as softball and track during the spring season.
Katie Fender, the coach for the middle school girls volleyball team, stated, “She is always encouraging her team to work hard. She is also very charismatic, which helps our momentum during games.”
In addition to being a great teammate, Fender noted, “She is leading the team in digs so far this season. She has a nose for the ball and is very scrappy.” She continued, “Watching her grow as a player from 7th to 8th grade had been a great experience. Definitely a metamorphosis style change.”
Lindsay Martin, the middle school science teacher as well as leader of middle school clubs STUCO and First Priority, shared, “Addie is an extremely hard worker and she is great at problem solving and thinking critically, which is unusual for her age.”
Miller has a few goals this school year she is hoping to achieve, she stated, “This school year I want to get straight A’s and just want people to know me as a good person that they can always talk to.” She added that this school year she is looking forward to having all the fun she can and being friends with everyone.
Miller noted that her favorite subject in school is math. She expressed, “I’ve always been better at math than other subjects and I love Mrs. Feldman.”
Susanne Feldman, who teaches math at Fair Grove High School, stated, “Addison is committed to her academics while also balancing extracurriculars. She is diligent in her work and making sure she understands the content.”
In the future Miller hopes to be a teacher possibly for elementary students. She explained that being a teacher would be something she wants to do so she can help change student’s lives in a positive way.
As Miller approaches her freshman year of high school she expressed that she was nervous about moving up to more challenging school work and felt very excited for the new experiences she will have in high school.
