The libraries in Fair Grove have been checking out books to students all year. The elementary and high school libraries have students come in to check out books every day. Reading is a way that many students choose to relax and entertain themselves. Mrs. Pearson, one of the high school / middle school librarians, says, “I would say Fair Grove is a well read school. I see a lot of the same kids day after day. The students here are great to talk to about good books and recommend them to other students.”

According to Mrs. Pearson, the top 5 checked out books in the HS/MS library are,

  • The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
  • The Maze Runner by James Dashner
  • Dark Diaries Series by Rachel Renee Russell
  • Dust and Decay Series by Jonathan Maberry
  • Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling

According to Mrs. Pearson, these books are all good reads. “Most of these have been nominated for various book awards.”

Mrs. Sims, the elementary librarian says a lot of kids check out the same books. “I often have kids in the same class check out the same book, so they can read together,” states Sims. “The Diary of a Wimpy Kid, 39 Clues, and the Magic Tree House are some of the most popular series in the elementary library,” says Sims.

  • The top five most popular books in the elementary are…
  •  Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney
  • Lego by Daniel Lipkowitz
  • Magic Tree House by Mary Pope Osborne
  • 39 Clues by multiple authors
  • Eyewitness by multiple authors
