November 12, 2014
On Friday, October 31st at 2:10pm all of the elementary students will be walking through the High School hallways for their Halloween parade. Mrs. Francis, a fourth grade elementary teacher adds, “I look forward to seeing all the students dressed up and excited to show off their costumes.”
The high school students get to stand in the hallways and watch all the little kids walk by in their costumes. Sometimes the teachers like to dress up with the students as well to make them feel more comfortable. Mrs. Francis said that she will be dressing up with her students and she will be a skeleton. She states that she always chooses something simple so she can just throw it on when its time.
Parents are allowed to walk through the hallways with their kids if they choose to do so. They are also allowed to dress up with their kids as well. Ms. Cannefax, a kindergarten elementary teacher stated that at the halloween parties the kids really look forward to putting on their costumes, “Typically they ask all day long to do it,” said Cannefax. Ms. Cannefax has 12 students in her class and they will all be participating as well as herself. Cannefax is going to be a scarecrow and dress up with her class. She mentioned that she loves this party because it is something that is different from all the other parties that they have.
A kindergarten student named Nataly Cupp says, “She doesn’t like walking through the high school because the big kids scare her,” but she admitted that she loves getting all the candy anyway. She also said that she is going to be dressed as Elsa, when asked why, she stated, “because I like her and she is pretty.” At their halloween party Nataly said that they just eat a bunch of candy and that butterscotch is her favorite.
