On Wednesday, April 8th the Fair Grove first graders attended a field trip the the Branson IMAX and ate lunch at Stockstill park. “After studying sharks, 1st graders went on a field trip to the Branson Imax Theater to watch Great White Shark. The film included some information already learned but also had lots of amazing new shark facts. The kids were very chatty afterwards and excited to share their favorite parts,” Mrs. Gallacci explained, “After the movie, the field trip continued at Stockstill Park where students enjoyed a picnic lunch and some recreational time on the playground.  Then students took a brief nature walk and returned to school.”

Gage Green said, “We got to go to the IMAX and got popcorn and a drink. When we got in there, there was a bunch or rows of seats and the screen was huge, it was 10 times the size of a normal screen.” After the movie the first graders went to a park where they ate lunch and Green says, “The teachers let us play for a long time. We played cops and robbers. It was a lot of fun and I want to go back to the IMAX.”

On Wednesday, April 15th the Fair Grove second graders attended a field trip to the Butterfly Palace. After the Butterfly Palace the second graders went to the RecPlex in Branson to eat lunch. Mrs Kearby commented, “Our classes had just finished learning about life cycles and about classifying animals. The Butterfly Palace reinforced these lessons and added to them.”

Brooke Daniels said her favorite part about the field trip was the mirror maze, “There were mirrors everywhere. If you ran into the mirror you got hit. Sometimes you got trapped in the mirrors and you had to find your way out.”

“The movie was my favorite,” said Ashton Bell, “In the movie there was a butterfly and a praying mantis ate it and it was in 3-D.”
