The Fair Grove Volleyball Team is starting the season back up, and they have worked hard through the summer to ensure that they are fully prepared for this coming season. “This summer we worked hard in the weight room! We also had our summer league here and then went to our camps at Pitt state and Lake of the Ozarks.” stated Head Volleyball Coach Tonya Peck. “I feel that with all of the hard work that the girls are putting in so far that they are giving themselves every opportunity to be successful this season.” added Coach Peck.

The Volleyball team has 22 players this year. Some key returning players are Taylor Bell(12), Sierra Anderjaska(12), Shyan Proctor(12), Alana Findley(11), Harley Maxwell(11), Shannon Collins(11), and Maranntha Holliman(10). Coach Peck added that the leaders this season are her seniors and returning players. The leaders this year will need to guide some newcomers to success, and those newcomers are Sidney Hill(11), Bailee Morgan(10), Cydney Fullerton(10), Ryah Icenhower(11), and Amanda Orr(12).

“I look forward to districts, playing in tournaments, and of course playing Strafford.” said returning player Marantha Holliman. “My favorite tournament is the Ash Grove Tournament because we have won the past eight years and I think we’ll do well again this year too because we have a strong team this year.” added Marantha. Last year the Fair Grove Volleyball team had a strong team as well. “Last season went well but did not end how we wanted it to. That bitter taste has pushed us to work harder and be more focused for this season.” said Head Coach Peck. Last year the team ended with a record of 28-7. Strafford will as always be a big game but some other competition will be Rogersville, Willard, and Bolivar. The team will also be attending a tournament at Licking for the first time this season.
