As the 2017-2018 school year begins, the students and faculty at Fair Grove are being introduced to the new teachers for the year. This year at Fair Grove, the school has welcomed 3 new teachers, two of them being middle school teachers.
As a graduate of UCM, Mrs. Natalie Palomo is jumping right into her first year of teaching at Fair Grove teaching marching band, jazz band, and 5th-8th grade band. Over the summer, Palomo got to meet the marching band students and begin to prepare for the upcoming marching season. “So far I am loving how dedicated the kids are. Everyone is so eager and willing to try new things.” states Palomo. Natalie says she is most looking forward to seeing the progress the students make from the beginning of the year to the end.
Also as a first year teacher is Ms. Samantha Orr teaching 6th and 7th grade mathematics. “I graduated from Fair Grove in 2013, so I am glad to be back and working here.” says Samantha Orr. “The faculty and staff are wonderful and the kids are amazing.” She also adds that she is looking forward to making math fun for her students but to also build relationships and make connections with them.
Mrs. Jessica Champion will be experiencing her 3rd year teaching at Fair Grove. She will be teaching 7th and 8th grade Communication Arts. “ I love my students. Not only are they great readers and writers, but they are also hilarious.” states Mrs. Champion. “ I’m just excited to be here.” Jessica also adds that she is most looking forward to watching her students grow as learners. But she is also looking forward to representing purple at sporting events.
