Fair Grove Elementary hosted their annual Grandparents day on September 15. It started at 8:00 am and ended at 3:00 pm. Kindergarten through 4th grade invited their grandparents to the elementary school to do arts and crafts, play games, and there was also a performance with singing and speaking parts. The school also provided snacks for the grandparents who attend.

The Book Fair was also available to all of the grandparents who come to grandparents day. There was a short break before the 3rd and 4th grade performances. This gave the kids and grandparents an opportunity to eat snacks, buy Fair Grove shirts, and meet their grandchild’s teacher, and also take pictures.

Raegan Pilot (kindergarten), stated “I had fun because we went to the book fair, and I got a lot of books.” She also said, “We made presents in class for my Grandma and Grandpa to take home.” The kindergartners, 1st, and 2nd graders all had  to practice their performance a lot during the week before grandparents day.

Raegan’s mother’s parents attended and her father’s parents also attended grandparents day for her, they all watched her performance together, met her teacher, helped with arts and crafts, then ate snacks with her.

At 9:00 am, kindergarten-2nd grade went to the upper elementary gym to do their performance. After that the 3rd and 4th graders went into the gym to do their performance at 12:00 pm. Each performance was accompanied by a piano, and the kids had signs to hold up during each song.

Fair Grove Elementary has Grandparents’ Day every year during September. The kids are encouraged to invite their grandparents to the school for fun and games provided on this day.
