Another Night of Fun In The Elementary

The Fair Grove elementary school recently hosted their Family Fun Night at 5:30 PM on Thursday September 14th. Family Fun Nights are an annual event that has been happening in the elementary school for several years, about three times a year. Each of these events are held as a fun way to promote, and construct a healthy relationship between the elementary teachers, and the parents of their students. It is completely free of charge, and the parents of students from pre-K, to fourth grade are encouraged to attend the event with their kids. The elementary principal, Charity Hollan, stated, “Family Fun Nights are one way to invite families into our ‘school home’, and develop relationships between families and teachers.”

Family Fun Nights have been held for several years now, and so far they have been quite a success. During the elementary’s fall Family Fun Night, about 322 people attended the event. “Our community supports our school district, and we always have great involvement,” Hollan said. There were several events that took place during the fall Family Fun Night, which included a Big Truck exhibit, a Brain Break exhibit, and a STEM exhibit. On top of those, the elementary was also displaying their book fair at that time. The school even provided snacks for the parents and the kids who attended, which consisted of a trail mix of popcorn, pretzels, and candy corn. The next Family Fun Night is going to at 5:00 PM on December 14th. That will be the last Fun Night of 2017. The first Family Fun Night of 2018, and the last one of this current school year will be during the spring on March 8th at 5:00PM.
