The Fair Grove boys’ and girls’ indoor soccer program helps prepare the athletes for their next outdoor season by getting them in shape and teaching them teamwork. Both teams are coached by Bob Florez, father of the outdoor soccer coach, Joseph Florez.

The boy’s indoor soccer team is continuing to find new athletes and prepare them for the outdoor season. Jacob Morelan (10th) stated, “Playing indoor helps make me and other players realize how out of shape we are, it also helps create a chemistry with the new people that will be playing next year.” It also helps find new athletes with a lot of potential. Morelan said, “Ryken Adkins (8th) is probably the most promising out of the newer players but all of the new players are showing great potential.”

The girl’s indoor soccer team is also having a promising season. Madison Psyhos (11th) expressed, “I feel like our team has improved a lot since last year. We have a lot more players that have stepped up into bigger roles this year, and because of that our depth is going to be pretty good. We have won many indoor games and we hope to carry that success to outdoor.” Psyhos also added that indoor has helped the team get in shape with Monday practices and prepare them for each others play style.

The girl’s soccer team has also been hard at work trying to get new players that show promise. Psyhos states, “Some of the promising new players this year will be Sierra Anderjaska (12th), Ashlyn Tiller (9th), and Emma Sanford (9th). They have done a lot for us in indoor this year, and I think them among many others will be a big help in our outdoor success this spring.”
